Quick update on Sophie's World

Sophie’s World by Jostein Gaarder is a little like Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance as it discusses philosophy at length, around the context of a wider story. However, unlike Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance I felt the surrounding story was too weak to carry the long and detailed discussions of philosophy and it read more like a philosophy lecture rather than an interesting addition to the book. So, after having such high hopes after reading ‘The Solitaire Mystery’ I actually have not finished this book, nor am I likely to. Sophie’s World has a Good Reads rating of 3.9 from over 160,000 votes and so I am sure that this book does suit some readers and, but I felt like Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance fitted more with me overall.
